which is faster? CIVIC fd 2.0 or LANCER EX GLX 2.0?

The Civic 2.0 5-speed AT accelerates faster than the Lancer 2.0 CVT. As for top speeds... all else being equal, both cars should hit 200... both have about 150 hp.

And the Lancer weighs almost 1.4 tons. The Civic weighs around 1.3 tons... the Lancer that weighs only 1.2 tons is the previous generation Lancer 2.0 GT, which has a first gear so ridiculously long that a Vios could outdrag it to 100 kmh... :hysterical:

But if all you're interested in is "faster", irregardless of everything else, then the fastest accelerating cars you can buy for compact money on the market are the Focus TDCi and the Civic 1.8 MT. The Civic 2.0 MT was faster still, but they don't sell the 2.0 with a manual anymore. After those three, you have the Subaru Impreza 2.0R MT (the AT is another potential Vios victim) and the Lancer 2.0 MT... both feel equally quick, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Lancer is faster, as the Subaru is over 1.4 tons and has to deal with the drag of the AWD drivetrain.

Gotta agree with the above post. The 2.0 Focus powershift has the best acceleration. Torque is way higher than the rest together with a twin clutch transmission gives really good acceleration.

So you are into drag racing. Well, between your choices, I`d pick the 2.0 Civic. Yeah, the current model isnt into the racing style anymore compared to the 2.0 civics before esp with the racing blue color. Anyways, since money isnt an issue......why not get the Lancer EX GT-A ? :hysterical: Is it waayy too out of the budget?

Niky, why recommend the Impreza 2.0R if the TS could afford the Impreza STI. :hysterical:

kung i drag race mo yung car, wag kang bibili ng A/T. kung gusto mo bumili ka nalang ng 2nd hand M/T na FD 2.0S. or mag settle ka na nga sa Lancer GLX.. or kahit GT ok na ;)
