since 997K ang E variant, sabihin mo sa kanila mag ipon ipon muna ng malaking pang down para mas afford nila ang amortization. IF asap, then ibang brand at model nalang kunin nyo.

Kung ano man ang kunin nyo basta, always get a car with ATLEAST dual airbags, ABS, childlock, and power windows and locks. Also, consider additional budget para sa JUST IN CASE scenarios, say around 50k.

I'm in the same boat as you pero MPV na ang target ko agad, even though wala pa akong anak. Galing ako sa malaking family so I know mahirap pilitin ang isang 5 seater car sa family of six.

In my case, I scratched the Innova E kasi ASAP na ang need ng kotse saamin dahil bumigay na ang 1993 L300 FB ko, sayang kung nagtagal pa yung ng 10 months pa baka makaipon na ako ng 40% DP.

My mom owns an Adventure, matagtag siya.

    Good luck!
The base innova has dual airbags
    all cars have child lock
yung powerwindows painstall mo nalang and power locks freebie na sa dealer yan
ABS is not really important but it's better to have

ABS is far more important than airbags - ABS helps you avoid accidents; Airbags just work as damage control.

^ho nga... SUV pa naman avanza...like sportivo. hahaha

i have an avanza AT. sulit sya sa amin ng family ko.
    matagtag lang talaga. 😊

I agree with you, partially. ABS IS important, but equally important are the airbags, IMHO.

So for family use, get a car with BOTH abs and at least dual airbags. Unless, you rarely go past 50kph (60kph at highways), average at 40kph, and drive VERY defensively, like what I did with my L300.

Pero, isusugal mo ba buhay ng mga minamahal mo kahit ganyan ka mag drive? IMHO, yan ang isa sa mga reasons why I am getting a new car.

I ain't hitting on the Avanza but: Avanza vs the Ertiga, the latter wins the ride quality, space, and flexible leg room for 3rd row, value for money categories.

I agree with you that the Avanza is a nice car though. :D

Airbags are just one of many important safety features of a modern car, and it doesn't even deploy in all instances (front airbags are useless in T-bone collisions). Side impact beams, crumple zones, and all other passive technologies incorporated in cars today are just as important. Airbags just get all the attention because they're flashy safety features.

I'm not taking away any credit from all these features that minimize the impact of accidents on a car's occupants, but I just put a higher premium on active safety (ABS, EBD, traction control, etc) because I believe that prevention is better than cure.

the toyota airbag is not equipped with a child sensor

airbags are very dangerous for children 7-13

the air bags is designed to hit the chest hence if a child seats on the front or even rear equipped airbag vehicle, the result would be catastrophic or deadly.

if you own an american cbu suv you will notice that each seat has an airbag sensor hence the explosion of the airbag could be controled if a child is seated.

abs helps you manuever, if the wheels locked you will not be able to manuever your car except when you are a professional race car driver.

no abs has taken any lives yet, airbags already killed a lot of children even in very minor accident situation.

my comment with the avanza AT (TS did say it be AT), is that you would have to struggle to do 7 km/li in the city. well, that is what my colleague-avanza owner says..
i had the feeling that the buyer may not like the fuel expenses..
other than that, ok si vanzy..
