I would also recommend a diesel Innova. Since this young couple does not have an iota of car maintenance, I would not recommend a car brand that has questionable aftersales service maintenance. True there are lots of other car brands that offer better engine power, toys and probably better interior than the innova, but come maintenance time, they don't have much to offer. Toyota has a good aftersales coverage and that is the main reason they are on top. Practicality. Get the Innova, it gives the space and probably the carrying capacity of an SUV and the near-comfort of a sedan....

Since their budget is 900k and needs an automatic vehicle
the innov a might be out

    Nissan Sylph 1.6cvt aroung 882k
lagayn nalang ng roof rack kung di kasya stroller

If they need a car that has cheap maintenance
2nd hand isuzu sportivo a/t fits in
but the beige leather seats is just a headache since
there is a baby which we may never guess when he will throw-up

used toyota innova e or g
Maintenance is a little more expensive
but a more safer vehicle and comfortable

The Innova is old, not as powerful as other modern CRDis, etc... but it's still hard to beat in terms of an overall package that includes practicality. It's also one of the cheapest to maintain (brand new).

    what's the hate with Avanza?

Sobrang astig kaya. Been using it for 8 mos right now (1.5G, AT, new driver and young dad) and walang pagsisisi

Kasya stroller with groceries, and minsan inlaws and parents, kasyang kasya Very easy to park

    Consumption is around 8-10 km/L.

I ain't hitting on the Avanza but: Avanza vs the Ertiga, the latter wins the ride quality, space, and flexible leg room for 3rd row, value for money categories.

I agree with you that the Avanza is a nice car though. :D

my comment with the avanza AT (TS did say it be AT), is that you would have to struggle to do 7 km/li in the city. well, that is what my colleague-avanza owner says..
i had the feeling that the buyer may not like the fuel expenses..
other than that, ok si vanzy..
