imho, any engine is prone of sludging. its just that the 3zzfe is designed to have an oil change every 5k km. some users dont follow the pms. this is the clear resolution of the toyota motors why there was no recall regarding the sludging.
as to your question, yup, mas laganap sa 1.6L kesa sa 1.8L considering that there are more(way more) 1.6 (3zzfe) corolla(US)/altis(Phil) than the 1.8L

Since you're still a student, bili ka ng Corolla AE92. It's a very nice classic car if you maintain its clean looks. Should be cheap mga 70-90K lang siguro. Yung matitira, reserve it for the maintenance expenses.

If I change my oil now, will all of the sludge be removed meaning that 90-100% good as new na ung oil or meron siyang cumulative effects for the next oil changes?
By "cumulative effects" I mean ung bits of sludge na di natanggal dahil late ako nag oil change dati ay dadami if I don't follow the next regular oil change schedule.
Here is the scenario: Its been 12k kms since I changed the oil. When I checked it, its very thick already and then small amounts of sludge has formed. If i change my oil now, will all of the sludge be removed or is there a special procedure to toatally remove all of the sludge?
Thanks!

Back to topic:
