MTs are fun to drive when you're driving for pleasure. I've been driving MTs for the longest time and then last year, I got an X-Trail. To be honest, I would have gotten an MT variant if it was available, but alas, only ATs are available. it was the very first AT vehicle I owned and drove on a daily basis. After using it to go to work for a month, I was converted. *lol* The covenience it gives me on Manila's traffic is so incalculable, and it didn't take long for me to adjust how to drive an AT for fun.
Majority of people buying TOTL cars are your typical mototrists who need to get from point A to point B with the least stress and aggravation, a very tough goal in our country's road conditions. They don't care about 0-100 kph numbers, nor do they care how the car performs when navigating a double apex, since they'll probably do it under 40 kph anyway. They definitely have no "one-with-the-car" philosophies. All they care about is that they're riding in comfort and in style.I'm planning to get a new car next year and, because it's probably gonna be an executive sedan, it's gonna be an automatic. Heck, I'll probably still get an automatic if I change my mind and get a coupe hehe!
The only way I'll get a manual is if I go crazy and decide to get a WRX STI, or a pickup that I'll haul off to real offroading jaunts. But then, these are fun driving stints, not daily driving chores

then, let us hear from you again bro.....

July 10th, 2011 05:35 PM #36Ironically, both cars namin now is automatic. Haha. At may dadating pa Jazz 1.5v so ma experience ko talaga yung paddle shifters thingy. Namimiss ko lang talaga mag drive ng decent manual car. Kasi right now ang manual ko lang na naddrive are vehicles which we are selling(surplus from japan).

July 10th, 2011 07:07 PM #40Meron parin sa pick ups dahil pag mag hahaul ka ng gamit, M/T is the way to go. Kahit nga ung Lancer EX meron dati eh. Bibili sana ako nun kaso wala pang funds dahil kakabili ng Tucson CRDi. Yung sa Mazda 2, see? ang daming may gusto ng 1.5 na M/T tapos HB. Pag pangporma kasi yung kotse may +pogi points ang M/T kesa A/T. May Mazda 2 na sana kami ngayon kaso wala yun.
