Is the LC150 a good enough alternative?

Although still way overpriced, that 70k increase is not bad at all. Plus six-speeds na and for the keen ones, makikita nilang hindi kasing dami ng lc200 sa kalsada if they are conscious of that. But then again who will buy the diesel if the gas is more powerful between the two. Yung mga palagi sigurong nakatutok sa gas gauge hehehe.
Nasanay na rin ako with my gas pajero 😄
And with an 800k difference between the gas and diesel versions of the prado, kahit 10 years with the gas, up ka pa rin 😄

I would still choose the Explorer over the CX9 or Evoltis/Ascent. It is bigger and packs a more powerful engine than the other two. Only advantage of the CX9 is that it drives better.

The 2021 Explorer is only offered with a 2.3L 4-cylinder turbo engine but packs 304hp/420Nm. More than what you need for a midsize SUV. SRP for the 4x4 model is 2.998M while the 4x2 model is 2.698M.

There is a 2019 white expedition for sale with low mileage within your budget. Check the FB marketplace ads. Am sure you can haggle.

Ah edi go ka na sa gas model. Ang advantage lang naman ng diesel ay torque at kung balak mo gamitin daily, syempre matipid siya. In the long run naman, resale value. Kahit 5-year old model mahigit two million pa siya. Di kasi ito kasali dun sa jpepa kaya grabe ang srp niya.

You prefer the expedition over the LC150? Had an Eddie Bauer before, gas consumption was nuts! Should I expect the same from a prado?

I like the explorer too, although even if it’s lower priced than the LC150, resale value over maybe 5 years basically takes up the price difference.

You should try test driving both

With the power plant options for the Prado (LC150), don’t expect too much in terms of performance. 275hp/380Nm from a 4.0L V6 NA gas or 200hp/500Nm from a 3.0L turbo diesel is not impressive by today’s standards. Pair that with a big frame, it ain’t gonna stir up some excitement in you.
