<- Jimny. But it depends.
If lahat i-Casa mo, Jimny pinaka-mura.
<- CRV
ano po ang mas reliable? <- syempre, yun brand new. The older it is, the less reliable due to worn out parts, supposedly.
Keep a car for more than 5 years if brand new. Dispose a car if repairs are not worth it.

Actually, the Jimny is the only vehicle id consider if the purpose is to ford flood waters.
Since its an extra car and you may have time and resource to repair it and ensure reliability then you can search for a second hand but go to get a unit that is only 3 years old or so. You can perhaps consider a diesel pickup too.

October 12th, 2013 05:17 PM #5For alternate coding car and floods, the Jimny is the better choice. Cars like the CRV and X-Trail are quite vulnerable in floods to begin with.
But then I'd suggest you get a 2nd hand AUV/MPV instead. That would be more practical. I wouldn't consider using the Jimny for any other purpose other than the ones stated above, especially if I have another car. A ~3 year old Adventure will fit your budget. It incurs lower fuel costs than the Jimny, is very cheap to maintain, does pretty well in flood fording considering the computer box-less engine, and does much better as a workhorse vehicle. Considering that our diesel Revo ran for around ten years with pretty much all of the parts from the factory sans the consumables, I'd say if you take this sort of car, you would have a problem-free car for a very long time.

October 14th, 2013 02:12 AM #7Naalog sya dahil mataas. Matagtag sya dahil short wheelbase. Makupad sya dahil 4x4 1.3L engine. Pero reliable at maganda iporma. Iba pa rin pag 4x4 ang sasakyan. Ü
Di talaga sya natetest drive sa suzuki. Few units available ata e

October 15th, 2013 08:39 AM #9if ride comfort is a big deal, the jimny might not be a smart choice.

The CR-V is pretty low so don't consider it for going through flood waters. It is also a gas guzzler so if fuel consumption is an issue for you, then you should consider the Jimny. However, it is bigger and has a better suspension for daily driving in the city.
The Jimny is the lowest cost 4x4 out there and it is brand new, you won't have to worry about parts breaking down for 2-3 years unless you abuse it. Consider the Jimny if you're single and want a different type of car from your sentra.
The Jimny is a purpose-built car made for 4x4 enthusiasts whereas the CR-V was made for the urbanite who may have a family and would go out of town every once in a while and would need to carry groceries and other things.
