It crossed my mind din to buy a new one, pero naiisip ko i have to pay for it for the next 60 months eh. Mag 1 year pa lang ako working, though stable naman work ko baka hindi ko pa kaya mag bayad ng ganun katagal.

Economy not as horrid as the 1.6 AT. Not great, though. About the same as a Lancer or a Sentra 1.6 MT. Which makes sense, because they all share Mitsubishi electronics and all have the same MAF issues over time. (spritz spritz with contact cleaner every 20,000 kms...)
The only really problematic parts are the IACV (common with cars of this generation) and the cam-position sensor (Mitsubishi.). Everything else is about what you'd expect. Suspension not the most durable but not the most kalampagin. Rust protection decent but water based paint fades over time in sunlight. Interior quality upper-mid-pack for Japanese cars of the time.

corolla na lang bilhin mo kahit ibangga mo may mabibili kang pamalit like bumper, pinto etc.
