The Jazz and City are practically the same vehicle. It has the same platform, engine, and tranny. Their only difference is their configuration - the City is a sedan while the Jazz is a hatchback. If they are 2009 models, this means they have the 5-speed AT and not the 7-speed CVT of the 2003-2008 models.
If you ask me, I’d take a Civic FD over a City/Jazz 2009. It’s a better car overall despite a small difference in fuel consumption. The Civic is bigger, quicker/faster, and better to drive.
A Santa Fe CRDi will be practical in terms of fuel expense as it uses diesel but normally diesel vehicles are more expensive to maintain.
