June 5th, 2019 09:42 PM #2Japan surplus parin. No problem with parts no matter where you are. But be mindful of the quality of conversion.

June 6th, 2019 10:24 AM #3We don't have chinese trucks. But we do have japan surplus. Medyo asar na ko sa durability. Same rate of failure sa 20+ yr old brand new nkr namin. Mga easy fix lang naman like may tagas sa preno, lusot na clutch, etc. Pero ang hassle kasi ng down time. Lalo na pag nadadalas. Yun nga lang. Maraming piyesa talaga. So curious din ako sa chinese brands kung mas wala bang ganyang down time in 1st 5 to 10 yrs?

June 14th, 2019 06:12 PM #8I live in QC. The Foton Tornado trucks the city government purchased as barangay service vehicles back in 2012 are still being used. For a Chinese truck, I consider this an achievement. However these are still Elf clones which use 4JB1 engines, so parts availability are just as widespread as any Isuzu truck. I am actually less confident now that they are using Cummins engines, at least not until they have proven to be sturdy enough, and to have just as good parts availability as its Isuzu clone predecessors.
