Haven't tried the HSK and up though.

Re: audio set-up for beginners [continued]
Been thinking of upgrading the stock setup in a pre-owned Forester I got recently: AVT head unit with nav plus under seat AVT powered sub and stock speakers.
Already replaced the HU with Pioneer AVH-8850BT for Carplay and Android Auto. Consulting with Mickey, he is suggesting either:
Focal Kevlar Elite K2 Power- ES165KX2
Alpine PDX-V9 5Channel Amplifier
Shallow mount sub JL TW3 Series TW3-D4 (10in) or the 8in to be placed at the right side panel of the cargo area in custom enclosure (I want to retain as much cargo space as possible)
with Bit Ten processor or without (he says this particular focals can be bi-amped and the tweeter and the mid individually time-aligned just using the Pioneer HU.
or
Audible Physics RAM 2.6 (I think, since the tweeter is full range)
Audison AP4.9 bit 4 channel amp with built-in processor, for the fronts
Audison AP1D for the sub
Audison AP8 (8in) or AP10 (10in) sub again in shallow custom enclosure on the right side panel of the cargo area
What do you guys think?

Personally i'd go for option 1. But i think that option is "better" kasi ang sales pitch dyan sa AP RAM 2.6, para kang naka-3 way already. Tska if possible i'd like to run my system on 1 amp only. I think there is also an audison 5 channel amp pero JDM yo so alpine parin.

Master! Since you are a PSB guy, I am pretty sure you'd like the Focals more than Audible Physics. And yes, you can skip the processor if you got the 8850BT.

Hi all, many of you have invested moolah into your car’s sound system. So my question is, when you buy a new car, do you transfer your beloved audio system or do you just start from scratch? And is it hassle and costly to have it transferred from one car to another?

Kapag "kakaiba" yung gears, i would have it transferred but kung mabibili lang ulit yung gears might as well bili nalang ng bagong system.

Thanks! My understanding of Mickey's description of the Audible Physics is since the tweeter (?) is full range, the mid-range would be clearer and more detailed since there would be mid-range signals coming from the tweeter hence higher up than just from the drivers placed at the bottom of the doors. Between the two options, it appears to me that Mickey is favoring this setup over the focal setup. And yes, since space is a premium, I prefer as much as possible to have less amps/components as possible and for these to be placed under seat and not in the cargo area.

Thanks bro!
In your earlier post, you described the Audible Physics as sounding very much like Morels. So I suppose that also means it's similar-sounding to DLS? I had Focal Polyglass drivers in a previous setup which I then replaced with a DLS drivers (US6.1 I think) and amp, and I liked the DLS setup for some reason.

Boss Arn, sa totoo lang, for me, regular 2-way seps sounds clearer and pushes out more details. The advantage of fullrange drivers like Audible Physics, is a bigger sound. It sounds like a 3-way system. Comparing a 2-way vs a 3-way is the difference in stage of a bookshelf speaker and a floorstander. Mas malaki din ang sweet spot ng mga 3-way systems. Mas madali pa itong Audible Physic driver to tune kasi nga less drivers to work with.
Dun sa sound, yup, you are correct. As warm as Morel and DLS siya. If you got time to audition, I know a few who got Audible Physics installed in their cars.

If Mickey is favoring the AP set up, go for it nalang. How about going 5 channel amp sa option 2? Para the amp will be placed under the seat if possible.
I think 5 channel amps won't fit sa underseat. No idea ako sa size ng underseat space ng Forester kaya take my word with a grain of salt regarding dyan.
