Hello. I read somewhere that you could retrofit a KP600 to use the 3M waffle pads for wax application.
Im very dissatisfied with the applicator pads which came with my polisher.
My question is, where to get the velcro? Im aware that you can get these velcro strips at national bookstore, but i dont really want just velcro strips. I want to get the circular velcro hook thingie which covers the whole contact are. is this locally available and where? Or where can i get big pieces of velcro?

July 30th, 2003 02:14 PM #6That backup pad (05718) won't work with the KP600. That's designed for rotary polishers like the Makita 9227C and other rotaries that share the same spindle size. People usually buy these backup pads pag yung rotary nila ay walang kasamang velcro backing pad (like the B&D rotaries). Si theveed though, baka magamit niya yan.
There isn't really an advantage to attaching a whole circular sheet of velcro as opposed to just attaching it as strips. Of course, it looks cleaner that way, pero just as long as the polishing pad attaches firmly and does not fly off, you're all set.

irmscher:: thanks for the reply dude! i just didnt feel comfy enough with the hook strips, kinda looks flimsy if you think of it. You own a KP600, if i may ask?
