AFAIK, di pwede yan. Dangerous kasi. There's a big possibility that you'll damage your paint if used improperly. Masyadong mabilis ang ikot ng angle grinder. You'll end up burning your paint. Kung alaga naman ang paint mo, use an orbital instead. Yung angle grinder kasi is comparable sa rotary buffer. If used incorrectly, SUNOG ang paint mo. Rotary buffers are used for restoration purposes only. FOr maintenance purposes, use an orbital buffer.

November 30th, 2002 11:04 PM #3masyado ring mabilis ang rpm ng angle grinder....unless hi-tech type ito na may speed control ok lang.
Anong brand ng orbital buffer ang maganda?

whoa, good thing i asked first, kasi just saw some detailing shops which uses that tool, and so i thought that i could make use of that too. anyways, siguro they are trained to use that already. Well maybe kuha na lang nga ako ng orbital.
Thanks for all the replies.

December 1st, 2002 11:12 PM #6delikado nga yan use an adjustable 5 speed buffer so you could adjust speeds for different purposes. if u use a grinder uupudin mo lang ang paint specially sa mga kanto and pag manipis na paint mo.

No, don't use an angle grinder, the disc is too small (usually less than 5" in diameter) and the RPM is too fast... Angle grinders are used to cut metal and stuff... usually at around 5-12K RPM, whereas your paint can only withstand up to 1700RPM tops... even at 1000RPM you can burn through paint...
Keep this rule in mind... if you can't polish your paint well with your hands, using a power tool won't help you. It's like asking a blind guy to wear eyeglasses so he can read better... it won't help.
Stick with a random orbital if you are looking for a tool.
