There's a difference between a daily driver and a show car.

Bili ka na lang ng pang-harabas.

Ako nung simula everyday mag wash ng car. After two years of having it, once or twice a week na lang.

Nung minsan nagwash ako ng car ng madaling araw tuwing rest day ko (2-4am, night shift kasi ako). Pero after doing this a couple of times nahihirapan ako dahil nde ko makita yung mga dumi.

Mukhang medyo naiinis na rin gf ko sa sobrang alaga ko sa kotse.

I wash/clean the cars every week, wax every 2-3 weeks. I also clean the cars when necessary, say after parking under a tree and there are tree sap and bird **** on it. That's because tree sap and bird **** will ruin the paint if left for too long.

I'd like to share with you a story about my car car obsession....
Somehow, I think some supreme being wanted to tell me to stop being obsessed with keeping my car in showroom condition.

    Here it goes.
About three weeks ago, I passed through EDSA, taking a U-TURN at Kalayaan onwards to The Fort, where I work. As I took the U-TURN slot, I noticed that there were the Gloria Boys painting the underside of the flyover. The following day (saturday), I washed my car and cursed the high heavens when I saw a bajillion white dots...OVERSPRAY! I spent the next 3 hours claying the entire car...(My car is a Black 2003 City by the way...) All the while I was cursing and swearing, etc. After applying a new coat of cleaner wax + topper, I was back in business.
Monday, I swore not to pass EDSA to and from work. Damned overspray! Going home, I chose to take the Kalayaan -- C5 route. Ayan, at the Kalayaan -C5 intersection, I saw street boys with rags wiping the hood and windshield of hte cars ahead...naknangtinapay. I stopped my car 20ft from them, and as they approached me, I mvoed forward. They chased me, buti na lang, GO na. SO once again, I saved my paint from the nasty swirls it could have picked up from those dirty rags.
At the Libis area, I wanted to make a quick pass at Red Ribbon, so I didn't take the flyover. As I was waiting for the lights to turn green, may PEDICAB na sumingit sa kanan ko. He was close...too close. I couldn't move away. Then an FX hit the pedicab, the pedicab hit me...his handlebar digging under the stem of my right sideview mirror making a shallow dent and exposing a 10 centavo sized white primer! His wheels dug into my front right rims making deep scratches. After a long debate and eventually losing to the "Mahirap lang ako, wag mo akong apihin" defense, I let him go.
As I entered my car, may nanlimos na bata. I was still so pissed at that time. I tapped the window to indicate that I didn't wnat to give any alms. Unfortunately, I tapped too hard and my wedding ring hit the tint, damaging it and leaving a 2mm untinted spot.

Ayan. Had I not been too obsessed, I would have stayed in EDSA, and just endured the white overspray, effectively avoiding the pedicab incident.

Had I not been obsessed, I would not have been too sore/dissed/annoyed that I wouldn't have tapped too hard on my window, saving tint damage.

Andami ko sanang na-iwasan na sakit.

So there... don't be too obsessed.

Grabe... it took quite a while before I finally got over this thing.
For a long time, I've avoided the MORE THAN LOOKS forum because it made me feel bad to look at other obsessed people talking about how to keep their cars flawless.
Pero I'm over it now. ;)

<But not before I did some DIY repair using touch up paint which I wrestled from Honda and a Langka/Mothers paint chip repair kit that I bought a couple of years ago.>
