June 26th, 2007 09:02 PM #5i'd like to suggest:
- 2 seater
- 4 cylinder engine (practical for philippine condition) 1.3 to 1.6L (practical fuel consumption)
- race (drag, slalom, auto-cross, drift capable) and street capable (of course with suspension tuning)
mid-engine design (perhaps)
i have an idea of a "miniture" konigsegg-type sport - hehehe
TSV (tsikot super vehicle)

June 27th, 2007 04:30 AM #7yup, my suggested idea is to use a FWD engine and put it in the back/rear (remove the steering mechanism) so it becomes a mid-engine....

Hi wildthing.
Question: Is it your intention to see this project through to production, prototype, scale model, hardcopy, or CG modelling? Whichever level you want to take it, yes, by all means, this is the place to start it.
To better organize the project, http://www.disenyopilipino.ph/AutomotiveDP.pdf explains the broad stages of the auto DESIGN PROCESS. Be advised: magulo kung pagsasabay-sabayin ang stages ng process.
If there are tsikoteers who are interested in joining your team, this thread will flourish. This is your design thread, so take the lead. If you need help, just honk or PM. Remember that it will carry the Original Pinoy Vehicle tag, so don't fail us. Godspeed!

June 27th, 2007 07:50 AM #9thanks dprox for the info.
Actually, I also would like to make this some sort of an "OPEN SOURCE" sports car design. I wouldn't care if the big boys in the car industry will copy/imitate the work.
Unfortunately, baka there is no (direct) money in this venture .... but then again, who knows di ba?!
IMO, the STEP 1 - PRODUCT PLANNING
evolve around these:
Its an entry level sports car. Meaning, its like a "go-kart in steroids".
STEP 2 - DESIGN BRIEF
1) Targeted audience (not necessarily market) are young-would-be race drivers, race "riceboys", pocket-rocket lovers, college students who needs a good daily driver but with "pogi-points" and car-tweakers/DIYers.
2) Since this is an open-source and a starting set-up, I suggest not to re-invent the wheel - all technologies in underchasis, engine & engine management systems and tranny will likely be stock (or slightly modified stock).
3) The greatest appeal of this project is the BEAUTY of the car design - this is going to be more of FORM over FUNCTION.... but if it can be done nicely the other way around then it would even be better.
4) Another appeal of this project is that the "limitless possibilities" of modifications for the end product - owner modification, that is.
With these 2 STEPS in mind... we can procede to
STEP 3 - CONCEPT GENERATION
I open the floor for design suggestions now for those who wants to join me in this project....Last edited by wildthing; June 27th, 2007 at 07:57 AM.

June 27th, 2007 07:55 AM #10maganda mga designs niya....pero i would feel safer if those were on 4 wheels and not 3 wheels... i wouldn't feel safe running more than 80kph on 3 wheels kahit na super low na puwesto ko (low center of gravity).
if you would remember the original quad bikes are trike (3 wheels) which were later banned because prone eto na tumaob.
