very nice project! though sadly the thread ended without the finished project revealed

Wow! It will have a 350 hp chevrolet LS1 V8 engine! And the fiberglass body is big, as in supercar class.
But it looks like a kit car (note the thick A-pillars). And the body could have a bit more curved surfaces, like the front hood center area and the rear fenders.Last edited by donbuggy; July 13th, 2009 at 02:36 AM.

wow galing naman. daming possibilities after making one like that.
If this fiberglass construction is stronger and lighter (plus cheaper!) than other materials for cars, we could replace stock parts with it (beyond bumpers etc.). Possibilities....

July 27th, 2009 09:27 AM #7Fiberglass can behave like a regular steel by placing reinforcement at appropriate locations or by careful control of thickness where necessary. Like most machine design, engineers designate a certain portion of the part where it will fail when subjected to overload. This is called stress-concentration factor and functions similar to crumple zone so that the machine can fail and not cause harm.
