Hi there. Was going around this section and found no reviews or thread on this A4 variant.
Are there owners out there with feedback on the A4?
Keen to hear from you!

September 15th, 2011 11:31 AM #2our a4 was okey... but tdi is still best for the a4... it would go 11 to 16km/l but not 21km/l as audi is proclaiming
but i wouldnt suggest buying an a4 yet... new model would come soon considering its already been in the market for a long long time
as for the reliability... its solid...
just hate the very uncomfortable rear seats, gave my ass a hard time and no rear air condition...

March 30th, 2013 06:07 PM #3I have a B6 and B7 Audi A4 from 2003 and 2007. They are pleasantly styled cars, with reasonable fuel economy. The 2003 is CVT equipped and the 2007 is a manual with quattro. They are reliable for the first 5-7 years after purchase with regular maintanance, after which you need to do more advanced servicing. This isn't so different from other cars though. You will need to:
1) Replace A/T fluid - crucial to avoid transmission failures!
2) Replace brake fluid and gear oil for the differential for the quattro.
3) Replace gaskets on the suspension arms and links - necessary after 5 years because of our bad roads. This can be serviced at Cruven however.
4) Inspect the coolant and replace if it hasn't been replaced in the past 5 years.
5) Replace the timing belt at 60,000 kms - a must to avoid engine failure.
Aside from these common things, failures are rare but occasionally happen, but are easy to remedy. Another problem with some of the older cars is that the rubber finish on some interior parts feel from the heat and scratching by long nails, but there are minor.
I have been happy with the Audis because of their fuel economy relative to power (1.8 engine, 163 hp, and 225NM of torque for 8.5 km/l in traffic), their handling (not bad for FWD), and their looks, which I think are classic compared to similar generation C-class Benzes or Volvo S60s. I will concede that the e46 Beemer looks pretty good even now though!

We used to have a TT & A4, both using 1.8Ts (with different turbos).
I sold the TT after 33K miles because I got scared of the timing belt snapping at 50-60K miles although the recommended mileage to replace it is 105K miles.
Also, the A4's 1.8T is known to have oil sludge. Never encountered it but honestly, the 1.8T's are known to have a few issues.
