good day po mga bossing, meron po ako problem regarding my corolla GL 1990 4af carbed engine, meron whistling and squeaking sound kung mainit na ang makina around 5-10km natravel. ung temp guage half lang po lagi. another thing, malakas magbawas ng tubig rad, pati overflow container ubos.

suspect ko is ung thermostat, waterpump, at radiator ang problem...please help me naman po mga bossing...thanks in advance!!!

Squealing, probably a slipping belt... which might be causing heat build-up at the water pump, which is probably causing your coolant loss.

Also check your radiator cap. Might be time to change it. If the spring on the cap is weak already, it can let out water too easily, causing boiling inside the cooling system and the loss of coolant.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Squeaking could be coming from the drive belts.

you can start to check the water pump. observe if there is some water leak eminating from it. chances are the squeeking sound is coming from the pump itself thus your loosing water too.

Thank U very much po sa mga reply nyo mga bossing!

After I posted this problem & read your replies, I did some checking on the parts that you've mentioned, and I saw some leaks sa upper rad hose and changed the clamps to solve it, same with the other hoses related to the cooling system of my car. I flushed the rad, no rust came out. The water pump seems to be OK, leaks.

My rad cap is new, I observed the belt and saw no slipping, but I'm cosidering changing the belt too.

After I finished doing all those things and refilled the rad, I turn on the engine till it got hot enough and the temp guage very slowly rose up less than half. I turned on the A/C to add load to the engine for some minutes but the temp never got up.

Today I have to see if there's still those annoying sounds when the engine gets hot by driving longer.

Please standby po mga bossing sa result ng test drive ko today...thanks po.

    Good day mga bossing!

I tested my car, at 10+km drive the whistling and squealing sound began again, but the temp gauge was at half and it sucked the overflow water but not that much. When I stopped the car and open my engine bay and immediately inspected it for any leaks from the cooling system, but nothing seem wrong...

what other possible things that causes those sounds from my engine? please I need help badly, I have to travel next week and I really need my car...

    thanks again

In addition to my failed test result mga bossing, I had my rad overhauled just to get rid of the leaks, I retested and when the whistling starts the engine dies and the RPM goes crazy na ngaun, Im worried about it and it takes less than 5km na lang. Mga bossing tulong naman, baka tutluyan ng masira makina ko...
