Mga Sir, tanong ko lang po kung bakit pag nag slow down takbo ng car ko tumataas ang temp? lalo na pag traffic? tapos pag na pick-up na ng speed bumababa ulit (less than half). Bagong palit radiator cap ko. Anu kaya yung possible na cause?
Salamat!

Ako din magtatanong na.
Lately kapag nasa traffic yung MB100, tumataas ang temp. Pero when I rev the engine continuously (even while stopped in traffic) bumababa ang temp to normal.
Kapag tumatakbo naman, walang problema sa temp. Kahit sustained 120kph ang takbo.
Sa traffic lang talaga. Ano kaya problema?
[edit]: Bago nga pala aux fan ko pero I have been using it for quite sometime already (months na) before this overheating fiasco began.Last edited by OTEP; November 2nd, 2006 at 12:33 PM.

Something is wrong in the water circulation. Have the radiator checked, baka madumi na ang loob. And also the water pump and the radiator fan.

Water circulation din ang suspect ko. Was thinking of the water pump since 100,000kms na yung sasakyan and still on the original water pump. Timing chain kasi kaya medyo kinakatamarang buksan unlike sa timing belt na obligado ka magpalit.
Possible din kaya na yung engine driven fan ang problema?

November 2nd, 2006 01:06 PM #5Or have you checked your aircon condenser baka barado na. When was the last time you had the front washed ? With my car it was also overheating when I had it checked makapal na pala ang dumi sa harapan ng condenser kaya di maka circulate ang hangin

hindi po ba almost lahat ng vans, suvs and commercial vehicles ay equipped with a fan clutch. kung more than 100,000kms na baka kelangan na ng inspection. baka ubos na ang silicone fluid nya.
The fan clutch allows the fan to turn with the belt at low engine speed and "free-wheel" at higher speeds. A bad fan clutch either doesn't allow the fan to spin at low speed (overheating in traffic) or doesn't allow it to free-wheel at high speed (potential overheating on highway or reduced gas mileage).

Nag-overheat ako dati right after pinalitan ko ang radiator cap. Nung binalik ko ang lumang cap (buti na lang di ko tinapon) back to normal din ang temp kahit trafik.
On most cars with motorized fans kung kelangan i-rev para bumaba ang temp most likely water pump na ang problema.Last edited by JohnM; November 2nd, 2006 at 01:23 PM.

To check the water pump, you have to take it off the vehicle.
However getting to the fan of an MB100 involves removing almost the entire front end of the vehicle.
