March 21st, 2007 01:57 AM #2imo marketing ploy....sure if you have a money you can get the P30k worth ac compressor - lifetime warranty ba ang P30k?
madali mo naman makita kung recon (dahil merun damage sa body - gasgas or whatever tell tale signs of reconditioned). Besides isn't reconditioning is a form of recycling?!? isn't recycling good?!?
when properly done, reconditioning or remanufacturing will be as good as brand new.

March 21st, 2007 08:15 AM #3i dont know if the compressor that you will buy from el dorado or atco (mitsubishi parts dealers) has lifetime warranty..still, those compressors sold at 11k to 12k are not really brand new.they are also surplus compressors that were reconditioned..hanggat makakalusot lulusot.mahirap n talaga magtiwala ngaun.imagine they will tell you n brand new tapos three months warranty lng..its so odd.kya mas mganda p daw bumili nung japan surplus which they sell at 5k to 6k.mas tumatagal p daw ung mga un.it really depends on how the user lng tlaga.

March 21st, 2007 11:16 AM #4firstly, i honestly don't think mas okay ang surplus sa brand new and secondly, kung kukuha ka sa reputable store, mas makakasiguro ka na ang brand new ay brand new talaga. IMO, kwentong barbero lang ng mga nagbebenta ng surplus na ang brand new units are actually just reconditioned units. of course its completely possible that unscrupulous shops will pass off reconditioned units as brand new units which is why its important to buy from reputable shops.
that being said, the advantage of buying surplus units is that these units are sold on an as-is basis. what you see is what you get ika nga. there are no promises and the chances of deception on the part of the seller is less. kung bumigay siya in say 3 months or 3 weeks or 3 days, understandable lang because may full disclosure naman that what you paid for is a 2nd hand unit.
incidentally, i just replaced my aircon compressor. gumagana pa naman pero pakiwari ko ay bibigay na kaya pinalitan ko na (estimate namin ng mekaniko ay bibigay na ito within a month). hiningi sa akin ng driver namin yung lumang compressor ko. plano daw niya ibenta sa mga surplusan.

If money is out of the question nothing beats brand new compressor basta
get it from authorized distributor. Kung medyo tight budget okay rin ang
surplus. Swertehan nga lang at malaking factor kung mabait at parehas
ang mag-aalok sa ‘yo.

agree with smooth.
under normal circumstances, syempre mas okay ang brandnew orig equipment. exceptions lang talaga yong mga kwento sayo. it will entirely depend on the price. kung 30K brandnew orig part, against 5K surplus/class b as-is part, e di syampre sa surplus ka na lang muna....
