OK...

Since naka-leave ako ngayon I decided to bring it back to them.

Right off the bat nakita may leak sa Schrader valve, yung mas mataas. Baka pito yung problem.

Pero hala, may leak daw yung hose sa may condenser, though I never saw the leak, dali dali nilang tinanggal yung hose at sabi kailangan palitan. What can I do? Cost sa MRV: 255 pesos.

Pull down din evaporator. daming oil sa housing. leaktest nila. walang leak. But whoever was doing the leaktest was insisting na may leak daw. I thought it was just air trapped between the fins... and I was right, kasi it eventually stopped and no more bubbles could be seen rising to the top. But the guy still sat there for a full 5 minutes staring at the bucket where the evaporator was submerged still trying to find a leak. With the compressed air * 140 psi as per the guage I thought that any leaks would have already manifested by now. Is he trying to cause a leak though sheer mental power? All this time I was watching over them like a hawk, no way can they do any hanky panky on a perfectly fine evaporator.

So eventually they flushed and binalik yung evaporator, hinigpitan ang connections, nilagay ang bagong hose, and pinalitan yung pito ng valve, at nilagyan ng freon up to 40 psi? Sa wakas lumamig din yung kotse ko, and it stayed that way during my drive home.

Cost of backjob

Condenser to compressor hose: P255 with fittings
1 pc O ring for that hose: 11 pesos. What a ripoff.
Valve pin 15 pesos

Total: 281 pesos.

Gave a tip of 100. They didn't ask for any, though... naawa lang ako sa matandang mekaniko kasi nasa supot lang pagkain niya. Pangmeryenda lang sabi ko. They told me to just come back kung may problema pa. I told them it would actually be better if I didn't come back for that reason.

Hopefully it's fixed for good. I'm taking back what I said about them being scammers for now. We will see in a month's time.
