I am a long time lurker of this site and have been reading random things just for knowledge. I have just created this account out of desperation. Here's the deal.
Kotse po namen ay Mitsubishi Lancer GTI '91/unleaded. Nagpalinis ako aircon last november ata. Lumamig naman at pag nagtuturn-on ang aircon (automatically via thermostat) walang noticeable difference when it comes to power and smoothness ng engine.
Nung december eh bumigay na ang compressor namen. so pinalitan siya (Different shop nanay ko nagpapalit). supposedly (and by visual inspection) brand new sya (sanden 507). Kaso naramdaman ko agad pagbalik na pag nageengage ang a/c, malaki ang nababawas sa power ng engine lalo na pag idle super baba ng idle rpm at nanginginig na as if na "chochoke" sya. At ang pinaka napansin ko, pag inaapakan ang throttle, may humming sound (at coarse feeling) na kasabay ng pagangat ng throttle. Ang pinakamalapit na description ko dito, parang katunog niya ang diesel engine pag ka inapakan mo lang ang gas ng madiin (humming siya not whistling). Pag nagdadrive noticeable and pagbaba ng power ng engine lalo pag umaandar ka tapos magdisengage ang aircon, magjejerk ang kotse at mas smooth na ang takbo (since patay ang a/c). Pag nagengage nanaman magjejerk at parang choked nanaman,.
Dinala ko na to sa iba ibang shops. Sa aircon specialist sabe masyado daw mataas pressure sa aircon line at kailangan ng flushing dahil baka may oils daw dahil bago etc.
Went to a different aicon shop sabe tama naman pressure.
Sa internet sites sabe tensioner/idler bearing/belt daw ito (sa pagkakabasa ko, eto ang closest sa problema ko)
Dinala ko nung saturday sa isang mechanic na talga, sabe nya bigla sa akin "Normal lang daw sa sanden 507 to at kaya daw parang nachochoke ang engine kasi bago pa daw yung compressor kaya parang masikip pa).
I just want to ask you guys kung ano ba sa tingin niyo talga ang problem? I want to believe na bago lang siya at mawawala din kaso pati fuel consumption ko tinamaan kasi nga kailangan ng mas magameng throttle dahil parang ang bigat pag nakaengage ang airocn. Thanks guys in advance!!

July 24th, 2014 06:23 PM #4good day sir, parehas na parehas tayo ng problem.. kakapagawa ko lang din yung a/c ko and nagpalit ng compresor, similar to you yan na yan din sabi sa akin ng mga a/c specialist at mekaniko dahil bago pa daw compresor later on daw e mawawala na din.. but parang may something kasi na hindi ok kaya i tried to search for some ideas, ask ko lang po kung ano yung balita sa compresor nyo? ano ano po ginawa and ok na po ba sya ngayon? thanks.

I think the Sanden 507 is a piston-type compressor. Piston types are noisier than the scroll type that might have been what was originally installed in the car. They also take a bit more power to turn. Piston types are cheaper than scroll types though.

IIRC the TRS090 has the same fittings and mounting points as the 507. I got mine brand new for around 10k 5 years ago.Last edited by JohnM; July 24th, 2014 at 06:50 PM.

July 24th, 2014 06:54 PM #6baka wala sa alignment yung belt, or your suspected bearing. try mo alisin belt and inspect bearing by rotating ang wiggling.
try mo search dayco belts sa youtube may mga simple steps sila na video for adjustable or auto tensioner type para ma-isolate mo yung bearings.

July 24th, 2014 07:04 PM #7many thanks sa mga idea sir, add ko na din kapag on ko ng A/C parang hirap yung makina at produces humming sound when i steped sa gas then wheb i turn it off bigala gaganda hatak ng makina at bibilis din and no humming sound when stepping sa gas.. almost 2 weeks palang po yung compressor ko at ilang beses ko na ibinalik sa a/c specialist iisa sila ng sabi bago pa daw kasi but duda ako kasi may affect sya sa makina.

try to check the tension ng belt.... baka mahigpit masyado.
this is dahil may loss of power ka pag engaged o bukas ang AC eh.

sir ano makina mo? sure ba na sanden 507 yang compresor kasi sir sa pg kakaalam ko yan na ang magaan na compresor lalo na sa 12v na makina,. ung maingay naman di normal un sir bearing ung ng compresor dapat ung balik mo sa ngpalit... ano ba nakakabit dati jan na compresor sa makina mo bago palitan ng 507?
