every 5000 km ay inspection lang yan, just check lang kung may cracks, and you can even spray it with belt dressing. pag may cracks na saka lang palitan.
normal replacement interval would be around 30,000 km or more. nasa manual mo yan pards check mo lang.
20000 km for fan belt replacement is too short an interval.

November 7th, 2004 08:40 PM #3I'm at 65k km on trooper with original belts(these are multi rib type), still ok.
I think belts age over time rather than km run, so replace in about 4-5 years time.

I normally change them at 40k, with checkup inbetween 5k.
Kahit na buo pa or walang visible cracks palit na sa 40k. Mahirap maputulan at laking aberya sa byahe lalo na kung bibihira ang sukat.

yep minsan mas ok preventive maintenance, safer pa especially with cars w/ 1 belt that drives the waterpump, alternator and powersteering all at the same time.
