April 29th, 2007 10:47 PM #22i think this also applies to 96-98 civics, as explained to me at mang mario's.
i was there yesterday to have my aircon cleaned. nung ikakabit na yung evap after cleaning, norman called my attention. dapat daw either blue (leftmost) or red (rightmost) ang setting. pag sa leftmost ang setting, aircon yun. pinakita nya sa akin na when you set it in this position, nakasara yung damper na nagko-control ng introduction ng air galing sa heater. pag rightmost or anywhere in between, naka-open yung damper which means may papasok na hangin from the heater. kaya daw wag ng galawin yun sa leftmost position.
problema ko lang, sobrang lamig talaga. what i do is just switch off the compressor (A/C) switch pag sobrang lamig na and turn it back on when it's getting a bit warm already.

ganun? so dapat pala iset ko lang lagi sa leftmost?
ang concern ko kasi is the gasoline consumption at yung life ng compressor. di kaya wala nang time mag-off yung compressor pag nasa leftmost. saka siempre, the harder the compressor works, the more gasoline is used up.

May 4th, 2007 01:33 PM #24mga sirs, looks like confirmed na either hot or cold lang ang setting ng aircon ng ek civic. meaning hindi talaga ma-control temperature unlike other models na may climate control talaga. try reading thru this thread. very educating din.

Most new cars regulate temperature by mixing cold air from the a/c and hot air from the heater core.
Anyways, I just set mine to around one or two notches before the coldest settings and just adjust the fan as needed.
I also fiddle with the vent selectors. To lower the output from the dash vents, I select the bi-level (dash-foot) setting.

Mine sets just 2 clicks above from lowest (* 10 o'clock angle, non), then normally no. 2 fan, 3 if it's hot (no tint oto ko eh!). Wala naman me prob sa ac ng galant, mabilis lumamig kayang kaya naman labanan init.

June 1st, 2007 08:41 AM #27i set mine at 50% thermostat and no.2 blower
pero sabi nung gumagawa aircon , dapat din daw wag masyado mabilis magpatakbo kc nababatak din ung clutch bearing nung compressor (kc connected ung belt ng a/c compressor sa engine)
dunno kung 22o yan sabi nya.
also, medyo OT: how do you know na gumagana yung re-circulation control (ung switch na closing outside vent) ?
feeling ko amoy ko pa din usok sa labas pero me naka-on naman re-circulation ko....

full cold settings, fan speed 2 or 1 lang...
nakakasira daw kasi ng expansion valve pag hndi naka full yung temp settings.
pag 120km/h above na ang takbo switch off na aircon nakakasira din kasi ng aircon pag naka on pa.
